Nose Comparison : Caravelle vs. 787
We were looking at some Caravelle pictures, and noticed a resemblance to the 787.
There is a slight similarity.
In case you're wondering, the Caravelle first flew in 1958.
The "Indescribably Delicious" Caravelle candy bar came out in the 70's.

Special thanks to Tyler Rogoway for the use of his 787 nose shot below.

Convair 880 Speed Record Anniversary
The other day was the 52nd anniversary of when a Convair 880 set a speed record on a delivery flight to Delta between San Diego and Miami ... 3 hrs, 31 min.
Just days after that, another Delta Convair 880 hit 715 MPH between Chicago and Miami.
The new Convair was designed to smoke the 707 and DC-8 and cruise at 600 MPH. That converts to 880 FPS. Hence the name; Convair 880. And now you know...

Triumph Bonneville
Here is a quick critique of a Bonneville we saw parked along the road ...
I'm no longer sharp enough on my Triumphs to guess the year. 'Not sure what to think about that front fender brace - maybe it's a later model retro thing. I'd bet there was something on the sidecover that has been removed. License plate mounted sideways - that'll get you pulled over in some places ... metallic grips and pegs - I'd go for rubber mounts on a Bonnie ... braided line by the downtubes could be for an oil cooler ... dent on the muffler - 'bet there's a story there ... custom brake light and turn signals ... custom tailpiece and seat ... alloy rear brake pedal ... chain needs lubrication. Did I miss anything?
