Alaska Airlines First Class to Hawaii N560AS "Spirit of the Islands"
Portland Interplanetary Cosmodrome.
A plaque describes how the livery was designed by a kid, but he didn't actually paint it.
The coast was clear as we went oceanic.
Thai chicken lettuce wrap was served unwrapped.
Pineapple glazed chicken. Not so great.
Soy glazed pork chop was better.
Ice cream lost points on presentation.
All passengers and crewmembers get a pre-landing Mai Tai.
Glamor shot.

This guy declared an emergency shortly after takeoff from Kahului Airport. Some sort of engine trouble. He deadsticked it back to mother earth.

You can see the touchdown skidmarks in the oncoming lane. Came to a stop about 50 yards from the intersection in the distance, just around the corner from the fire station.

This isn't just Beyond Cool, it's Beyond the Edge of the Known Universe Cool.
Owned (and flown) by businessman Tom Blair, who may still have the world's largest private collection of British WW2 warbirds. Some people just know how to live !

Gilligan's Island S.S. Minnow
Whenever I come across this picture I think of, "Gilligan's Island."
IN REALITY it isn't much like the S.S. Minnow.
But thank you for visiting Airplane Life.

BEER NUTS
Invented by Russell Shirk in Bloomington, Illinois.
"Because they were the perfect compliment to a beer, BEER NUTS acquired it's name in 1953, and quickly became the undisputed snack of choice in bars and taverns throughout America."
We searched three states before we finally found some. Everyone knew what we were talking about, but nobody knew where to get them.
