I was on a rooftop of a parking structure off Sepulveda. Honest to God when she did the flyby on the 25's it felt like you could reach out and touch her. It was magnificent. My iPhone camera couldn't do her justice. Then she flew over Manhattan Beach and my mom's house, over our house (I wasn't there I heard all about it though) and then back to land. Made me so proud to be there. Can't wait to see her at the Science Center. WOW!!!!
We really appreciate hearing your account, AB. Thank You !
Maybe we should put you on the payroll here ...
Here at our Global Command Center, our staff is sorting through the thousands of pictures from yesterday that are flooding the internet.
As you were on a rooftop of a parking structure off Sepulveda, there's a good chance you might appear in someone elses picture from the opposite angle.
We suggest checking Flickr; search keywords : "Endeavour LAX"
NASA managed to get some killer shots of the event. Find their stream under: the "interesting" tab.
I've been all over looking at pictures. Just seeing it in person will be something I can tell my grandkids when I get them. I remember being in 2nd grade and herded into a classroom with a tv with rabbit ears in Wisconsin and seeing the 1st Mercury Flight takeoff. I was in FL when I was 12 and Gemini 9 launched and streaked across the sky. Thanks for your wonderful site.
