The Микоян МиГ-29 has always been our favorite enemy interceptor from the Golden Age of the Cold War.

The Russians don't name their planes. But they thought the NATO name "Fulcrum" was cool, so that's what they started calling it too.

The wide spacing between the Klimov RD-33 turbofans allows the body to generate lift and reduce wing loading; improving maneuverability.

It's radar system could simultaneously track 24 targets and the AIM-54 Phoenix missile system had a lethal range of 115 miles. It had a chin mounted TV camera so a bogey could be identified from a distance.

The F-14 didn't have ailerons. Instead, it used wing spoilers at low speeds, and differential 'tailerons' at high speed.
