Powerball Odds Explained by Airplane Life

Start by printing out one Powerball ticket for each of all possible number combinations.

Then place each ticket on a seat in a United Airlines 787-9 Dreamliner. Keep placing tickets on seats and fill up as many 787's as required.

Arrange all of the 787's nose to tail, nose to tail.

RESULTS:

The string of 787's would completely circle the Earth.

And you'd still have 521,491 Dreamliners left over!

Good Luck, and we hope you are sitting in the correct seat on the correct plane.

~ ~ ~

Below are the numbers you'll need to verify our results.

Powerball odds to win jackpot: 1:292,201,338
Seats on a United 787-9 : 252
Length of a 787-9: 62.81 meters
Circumference of Earth: 40,075.16 kilometers

LAX Terminal 4 American Airlines Then & Now

It's a sad state of affairs when 737's sit where there were once 747's and DC-10's.

The Classic C-9

Nothing says "Christmas" quite like the classic C-9.

Speaking of classic C-9's, here's one from Derin.

Derin has some great pictures on Jet Photos, you can see them HERE .

Invisible Invaders - 1959

If the aliens from another galaxy already have the ability to make themselves completely invisible, what is the strategic advantage to be gained by transforming into zombies that everyone can see?

Mr. Folk Singer Guitar Player at the Airport

We dislike folk-singer guitar players at airports.

No "Puff the Magic Dragon" in the terminal, please.

Our request would be for "Sounds of Silence."

Gulfstream G2 N30HE

What a beauty. Built in 1967, and still plying the skies. Would look even better if they had retained the original styling without the winglets and hush kit.

Let's take a closer look at that hush kit ...

American Airlines Airbus A321 N125AA Hawaii

Now American is using these things to replace their comfortable 757 rustbuckets between Hawaii and LAX.

N125AA was previously worn by an American Airlines DC-10 and the registration was retained when the aircraft later operated for Hawaiian Airlines.

We like to think that there was some guy at American who knew about that history when he submitted FAA form AC 8050-1 to get a number assigned to the new build Airbus.

Copilot and Best Friend

We lost our copilot, and our best friend.

There are no words to describe this.

We will try and continue Airplane Life, but will no longer have anyone saying, "That's too stupid," or "Don't put that on there, you'll get in trouble."

There are no words.
