LAX Airport Flame of Freedom

The Flame of Freedom is no longer there.

  1. So much for the "eternal" thing! Even though I've been going to LAX on and off since childhood, I only went to the tower once, in '72 and missed the flame. What was the eternal flame supposed to represent?

  2. Good question, AA. We don't remember what it was for. Trying to remember ...

  3. Well, you made me "Bing" it...it was called the Flame of Freedom. Seems out of place being next to the control tower where almost no one got to see it. Just getting to the Theme Building is a trek if you haven't done it before.
