We got a text message from our Galveston reporter yesterday. He let us know that he made contact with an Airplane Life fanatic. This sort of thing happens more often than you would think. His message reminded us of a picture we took a couple of years ago.

OK, we don't know which motors these 787 jets over at at Kilo North are fitted with.

Either way, what we don't understand is how those things are supposed to make any thrust !

It looks like they would just add drag ...

Same goes for this 747 with the rain gear on. It says 14,000 lbs of thrust, so we're assuming that must be a Pratt & Whitney JT8D on there.

Nose Comparison : Caravelle vs. 787

We were looking at some Caravelle pictures, and noticed a resemblance to the 787.

There is a slight similarity.

In case you're wondering, the Caravelle first flew in 1958.

The "Indescribably Delicious" Caravelle candy bar came out in the 70's.
