Part 1.
As regular Airplane Life followers know, we are embroiled in a dispute with Delta Air Lines regarding a measly 20,000 SkyMiles.
I have been advised not to discuss specifics. I can, however, speak in generalities about the experience for the enlightenment of our readers.
So let's start with a hypothetical flyer named Alice who books an award ticket on Delta's website, and later thinks that she's been robbed.
Alice wants indemnification for what she feels is fraud. So she sends a polite and well crafted message to Delta Customer Care.
Initially, all such correspondence are routed through Headquarters in Atlanta.
Then things get interesting.
More in our next installment. We'll be off to India ....
